Is Creating Wealth a Zero-sum Game?
Written by Peter Taradash
Let’s keep it simple.
Example:
There are two people on earth. One guy cuts down a tree and makes a boat. The other guy says “Lend me your boat so I can catch fish and I will give you half the fish I catch.”
He catches 20 kgs of fish and gives half to the boat builder, plus returning the boat.
Result:
Both guys have a ten day supply of fish to eat. The boat builder has a boat plus another one he made while the fisherman was out fishing. He agrees to trade the 1st boat for the promise of 70 kgs of fish deliverable the next week.
Two boats, 20 kgs of fish created. Plus an IOU for another 70 kgs of fish.
Does that equal zero?
